Connah’s Quay High School is proud of its location and history, even prouder of its 1,000+ learners. We aim to create success by offering a secure platform, supporting all learners on their educational and personal development journeys across their time here in school.
We promote the value of teamwork across the school community. Our Tutor Groups are year-based, but also organised into vertical families, with each Tutor Group taking its name from the letters in T, E, A, M, W, O, R, K. We welcome learners from our cluster Primary school partners of Bryn Deva CP, Golftyn CP, Queensferry CP, Sealand CP, Wepre CP, Ysgol Caer Nant (Brookfield), Ysgol Ty Ffynnon, and families who move into our catchment area. If you are a family planning on moving to this neighbourhood and wish to request to visit us, or to enrol for a place during the course of the school year, please register online at https://digital.flintshire.gov.uk/FCC_SchoolAdmissions/Account/Login.
We offer a rich curriculum and bags of extra-curricular enrichment activities, along with a daily Breakfast Club, and state of the art facilities in Expressive Arts including a Photography Suite, Technology, ICT, Drama, Dance Studio, Catering, Library and a new Hall. Updated areas within the school are the Administration area, Kitchen and Canteen, PE changing rooms and outside recreational areas for the learners. We encourage learners of all ages to respect each other, their staff, their learning environment, and the wider community. Our Learner Parliament meets regularly and offers suggestions and, ideas about how to improve our school.
We want every learner to thrive as we seek to promote the key values of teamwork, honest endeavour and boundless ambition. This year has seen the opening of the final phase of a £16 million modernisation of Connah’s Quay High School. This was funded in partnership with Welsh Assembly Government and Flintshire County Council. Kier Construction completed the modernisation of the school and worked closely with the school to deliver within time and budget.
